Site History
I was introduced to Marisa Tomei in 1990 when I saw the movie Oscar for the first time. I thought the actress that played Sylvester Stallone’s daughter was impressive, but I had no idea who she was. Then, in 1992, I saw My Cousin Vinny and was hooked. I began to collect whatever photos, clippings, and video I could find. Since these were the days before readily available internet, it wasn’t easy. I somehow managed and now this collection fills five notebooks and two large shoeboxes plus about 15gigs on my computer.
In 1997, I bought my first modem and of course one of the first things I did once online was to look for Marisa websites. I was disappointed in the lack of any qaulity sites, but I had no idea how to go about making my own. Three years later, after much research and trial and error, I finally had taught myself enough html to open my own site. Exclusively Marisa opened in June of 2000 and quickly grew. Unfortunately, time constraints made it impossible for me to update the site in early 2004 and by the end of the year, I had to shut it down completely.
Fast forward to the summer of 2006. I finally had the time and money to once again re-open the site. Exclusively Marisa officially re-opened on August 30th and has been going strong ever since. My tiny little site from 2000 that had a whole 3000ish photos has grown into what it is today. The gallery is reaching the 20,000 photo mark, a media archive section is in the works as is a fan forum. The site should only get bigger and better as time goes by!
