Lisa, This is unfortunate news because I am a big fan of Marisa and you do such a wonderful job providing news and updates on her. I will support your decesion but I just wanted to ask that you wouldnt leave the site. This is the only fansite of Marisa Tomei and I think us fans count on you. I would truely appreciate that you take that into consideration. Thank you for hearing me out.

Lisa I’m so sad to hear that you are going to close the site.you have always done an amazing job keeping us informed with your updates and amazing galleries.I do hope that you will. Change your mind.I do realize that to run a site like this it is time consumeing and I do appreicate all you have done through out the years.I wish you all the best though I’m hoping that you will change your mind.

if you have lost interest , better to be honest and just say that.
Marisa has played more challenging roles lately that include some(limited)nudity. but that is part of their character and of real life too.
as a result of playing interesting and complicated women she is becoming one of the all time great actresses.
i hope to see her in the theatre soon.

Lisa, I too am sorry to hear your leaving. I only became a fan a few years ago when I decided after many years I’d dye my hair dark the way God made it to be and everywhere I go I am stopped and told I look just like Marisa Tomei. Once I was chased through a store by a fan of Marisa’s, she was disappointed when I told her who I was. Thats when I sarted looking online and found your site, (which is fantastic by the way!)and have been going to it ever since. I really hope you change your mind and continue to keep us fans up to date.

I won’t watch any more Marisa films because of her “bare alls”. I’m not a prude, it just turns me off. I was also a fan before, but now when I see her I turn the channel or won’t watch the movie. She had talent, it wasn’t necessary for her to do that. She lost fans, and I won’t return.

Lisa,
Thank you so much for all of the years of dedication to Marisa and her career.

I have had the fortunate opportunity to have met her a few times and to be honest,she ran the gamut from being unpleasant to pleasant which was most of the time.
She most definitely posses a visceral instinct about people and is quite perceptive.
My interest in her and her career also has waned, I’m not sure why.
I came across this site a few years back and thought that it was a very lovely, thoughtful tribute to such a talented actress and I wish you well with whatever the future holds.

May you live your dreams like Marisa has.

its truly pathetic that people are saying ” I liked her better before she bared all ” … dont you understand its the character who is naked, and not Marisa? im glad she is playing difficult characters, as she is a great, great, actress. i too met her after she did a charity reading of the scarlet letter, she was lovely.

Thank you everyone for your comments and emails. Though I still remain (mostly) firm in my decision to close the site, I am considering the possibility of creating a new one that would simply be a news/photo blog.

@Gary While I understand where you’re coming from, I still can’t help how I feel. One of the things I loved so much about Marisa was that she (and said as much herself in an interview) didn’t feel the need to take off her clothes for a part. I’m not a prude and I don’t mind nude/sex scenes in films. But if you admire a person for one thing and they turn around and do the opposite, it lessens the admiration a little.

Creating and maintaining fansites is supposed to be fun. It’s not supposed to feel like a chore or something that you have to do. This site isn’t fun for me anymore. And there are several reasons but I won’t bore you all with the details. I’m sure that the site will be missed by some people but I feel it’s better to close it than to allow it to remain open with half-hearted updates.
